Rural and Tribal Community Development Programs

                      Picture
The main objective of the community development programs of ACM is to improve the socio-economic conditions of the rural and tribal regions. Through community oriented projects we look beyond development to the transformation of people with Christian ethics and empowerment of the people with self-employment training.

The programs include Tailor Training for women which provides the self-confidence necessary for self-employment; self-employment skills for youth, widows, and the destitute; Children's Day Care Centers that provide nutrition, medical care, dress, and basic education; and Awareness Programs that teach hygienic lifestyles, ecological issues, and prevention of epidemic diseases.

One of the challenges of ACM in community development programs is financial setbacks. We encourage churches, groups, and families to adopt a village and serve the community. Adapt-a-village programs cost $500 per month.

                      Microfinance & Microenterprise

One of the methods that we are currently discussing to assist in rural development is a method called 'microfinancing', which would enable us to provide small loans to startup businesses.
